Background
This nationally recognized Freight Broker Training Course teaches the skills that students must acquire to be successful as a Freight – Load Broker Agent. Tutorials and projects will teach the student the practical application of Freight Broker skills. This Freight-Load Broker Training Course is only offered in partnership with major accredited colleges and universities.
Course Goal
Students will learn the “how-to’s” of building up a freight brokerage or agency. From licensing to operations, to sales and marketing, students learn the basics of how to run a freight brokerage or agency. This course arms graduates with the information needed to succeed in the freight brokerage business, and can help lead to a rewarding career in this field.
Course Objectives
Upon successful completion of the Freight Broker/Freight Agent Training Program, the students will:
- Learn the process of Freight Brokering from start to finish.
- Learn the tools needed to be successful as a Freight Broker or Freight Agent.
- Learn the basics of day-to-day operations inside of a Brokerage/Agency.
- Learn techniques such as prospecting, sales/marketing, rating, and negotiations.
- Learn how to manage the shipment from origin to destination.
- Gain valuable industry resources.
Course Structure and Schedule
This is a non-credit course offered for 150 hours. The student can register at any time during the year. Cost is $1,695 per student. A certificate for course completion will be issued.
Upon registering, the student is given an initial six months to complete the program. If the student needs additional time, they may request a six month extension at no additional charge.
Prerequisite(s)
There are no specific prerequisites for the program. Students will work their way through the steps from start to finish of the freight brokering process, and learn the day-to-day workings inside of a brokerage/agency.

Register online through our secure server or fill out this form and fax or mail it to Extended Learning. You will be given class access by email within five working days. Refund Policy
Any cancellation and refund request must be submitted in writing by the student to WVU Extended Learning. A $50 processing fee will be charged to the student for a cancellation requested before materials (books) are mailed to the student. If the student cancels within ten days after the materials are mailed to the student, then a $100 processing fee will be charged, provided the student returns the materials, within five days of the written request, in their original condition. If the materials are not returned within the specified period of time or are not in their original condition, then a $500 processing fee will be charged to the student. If the student cancels any time between eleven and thirty days after the materials ae mailed to the student, then a $300 processing fee will be charged, provided the student returns the materials, within 5 days of the written request, in their original condition. If the materials are not returned within the specified period of time or are not in their original condition, then a $500 processing fee will be charged to the student. No other refunds will be considered.
