Equine Assisted Activity & Therapies (EAAT) is an umbrella term for all of the range of programs derived from working with horses and those with disabilities (NARHA, 2009). Being on and around horses has been considered therapeutic throughout history, but through the efforts of many determined individuals, EAAT has recently come into its own. EAAT is now a well-respected field with a variety of professionals who all use horses to help improve the lives of people with disabilities.
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at WVU is a membership organization open to anyone age 50 or older regardless of educational background. Osher provides intellectually stimulating classes and discussions with an opportunity for social and recreational activities such as field trips to environmental and historic sites and also for appreciation and study of the arts.
